Hello! In June we'll be learning how to groove to a bunch of different rhythms which can be found in Blues Music - whether you've never danced before or you want to keep improving, these classes are for you.We have a selection of teachers for you this month, so over the month you'll be introduced to a variety of music and dance styles which all fall underneath the Blues umbrella.
6th June - FUNdamentals of Blues Rhythms with Joyce - Learn to hear and experiment with rhythms in the music, and put them into your body.
13th June - Everyday I'm Shuffling with Bina - Bring your slippy shoes and have a good shuffle on the dance floor, and learn about the influence of trains on blues music and dancing.
20th June - Chicago Triple with extra special guest teacher Anna - An intro to a very fun Blues idiom dance, danced to electrified Chicago Blues.
27th June - Latin Rhythms with Katy - Join Katy as she shares her excitement about Latin Rhythms in blues: what they are, how to hear them, and how they can inspire you to move your body.
Class from 8pm-9pm at The Red Door Club, downstairs from The Old Toll Bar, £5 or pay what you can (drop us a message if that's a problem!)
Afterwards we have a wee social dance and grab a drink from the bar.
All our classes are drop-in i.e. suitable for those who've never danced before, as well as those who've been dancing for years.
We also teach everyone both roles - leading and following - so you'll never be stuck waiting for a partner to dance with, and you don't need to bring a partner with you.
You don't need to wear anything special, though you may want to wear shoes with slippy soles.

We offer loyalty cards where, after nine classes, you get the 10th class free! Or, if you prefer, pay for nine classes in advance (£45) and get class number 10 free!
