Formed out of monthly Blues Revival nights hosted by band lead Chicago Bob, the Blues Benders take their name not just as a nod to the community of Bend, OR, but also as permission to bend traditional blues music, shaping their sound with rock, soul, and Americana infusions. Featuring the song writing talents of Chicago Bob, their musical expression includes such influences as Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and a hint of 1950s nostalgia. Their sets feature the rich, improvisational talents of Jeremy Gottfried’s guitar, Dan Lauer’s harp, and Dave Pellouchoud on keys, layered over the driving groove provided by Kris Wright on drums, and Abby Hardgrove on bass.
They aim to weave the fresh music of original tunes with rediscovered and revitalized classics from greats like Howlin’ Wolf and Freddie King. Bob and the Benders’ infectious, energetic collaboration on stage will have you out of your seat and onto the dance floor!
