As 2024 begins winding down, the band will have completed 98 shows throughout the USA and Cananda. The band has had many special opportunities this year, most notably Friday night when Kevin Prater inducted the late, great James King into the Bill Monroe Music Park Hall of Fame, followed by The Kevin Prater Band doing a set of James Kings songs. Kevin Prater has assembled an amazingly talented group of young pickers to help create the. bands "Coal-Fired, Pure Kentucky Bluegrass" sound. In addition to Kevin on mandolin, 19 year old Mallory Hindman of Reader, WV. on fiddle. Mallory began her training at age 9, studying classical for four year until the Kenny Baker bluegrass bug bit her. She is a student of Byron Berline and Eddie Stubbs. On banjo, 19 year old Bailey Moore of Chatham, VA. Bailey is a 5th generation bluegrass picker, Great Nephew of Allen Mills of Lost & Found and Nephew of the late, great, Jason Moore of Sideline. On guitar, the super talented, Dalton Smith, a former staff musician at Hatfield McCoy Dinner theater. On bass, newest member of The KPB, holding it all together, Nate Stephens, Grayson, KY.
