Bluebeard’s Castle by Béla Bartók is a one-act opera where dramatic storytelling meets psychological thriller. Duke Bluebeard’s new bride, Judith, coerces him to open 7 doors in his castle, each one revealing disturbing moments of his life. What happened to all of Bluebeard’s prior brides?
