“Blue Sky Fantasy” is the companion to Wreckless Strangers’ more introspective and contemplative 2023 EP “Orange Sky Dream,” which explored pandemic-tinged themes of isolation and loss. The new songs delve into themes of hope, love, perseverance, and the renewed pursuit of the American dream.
Both EPs were produced by Grammy-winner Dave Way, and will be available for purchase for the first time as a limited-edition, full-length concept song cycle marking a profoundly tumultuous and transformative moment in American, and human, history.
Beau Beau Band is a new project for bandleader/drummer/vocalist Beaumont Beaullieu, best known for his work with The California Honeydrops. The band combines roots rhythm and blues, funk, soul, and New Orleans music and boasts a roster of top-tier, nationally-renowned hometown players.
Special guests include (Bay Area legends Bill and Tamara Champlin,) multi-instrumentalist Vicki Randle, trombonist Mike Rinta, saxophonist Johnny Bones, trumpeter Ryan Scott, and guitarist Tal Morris.
About Blue Sky Dream:
“I Found a Way” is inspired by David Noble’s first foray into parenthood. Beginning as a little ditty going through his head during those sleepless nights, the song grew into an R&B infused romp about carrying on with grace and gratitude; and features a horn arrangement by Grammy-winning trombonist and arranger Mike Rinta (Sly & the Family Stone, Jimmy Vaughan, John Lee Hooker).
“Lost Souls,” written by Bill Champlin (Songs of Champlin, Chicago) and Bruce Gaitsch (Chicago) explores the darker side of the American Dream, a Bonnie-and-Clyde tale of two kids from the wrong side of the tracks willing to do whatever it takes to beat the odds.
“Handling Snakes” is a down home rock ‘n’ roll love story the way only Austin de Lone can deliver it.
“Step Up to Me” again pairs David Noble’s songwriting with a Mike Rinta horn arrangement – a bouncy, infectious pop-rock anthem exploring themes of individuality and keeping it real in art and life.
“Never Give Up” is Amber Morris’ soulful meditation on perseverance and finding grace in a world where the deck is too often stacked against us.
