Nuages is a modern jazz Manouche ensemble, bringing the spirit of Django to the 21st century. Drawing inspiration from each member’s musical background, the group presents a high-energy yet sensitive take on the chamber group format. Audiences love Nuages’ fusion of old and new jazz styles, interwoven with elements of classical and folk musics, French chanson, bluegrass, and more. Each performance brings something new to the table while being grounded by a love of Django and a love of each other.With over ten years of performing and 4 albums under their belt, Nuages has been a mainstay in Northwest Washington’s jazz scene. They have performed twice at Djangofest Northwest, as well as many concerts and events throughout the region. While hosting their concert series Manouche NW, they have shared the stage with groups such as Pearl Django, Christine Tassan’s Les Imposteures, Tim Kliphuis and Jimmy Grant, Hot Club of Troy, Ranger and the Re-Arrangers, Greg Ruby and more.
Nuages’ anticipated fourth album, Fork in the Toaster, is being release October 18th, 2024, and will be played all the way through at this concert!
