Polly shares her journey to the Dharma and how she cultivates and shares her practice with others in Johnson City.
About this Event

In the Mountains and Rivers Order of Zen Buddhism, a Noble Path Talk is an informal talk shared by sangha members about their experience of how they came to find the Dharma, and how their practice has been developing. These talks are typically offered at Fire Lotus Temple in Brooklyn, the city branch of the MRO, which is closely connected to the main house, Zen Mountain Monastery, in Mount Tremper, NY.

Polly Kiho Horne is a formal student in the MRO and has been practicing with this community for 15 years. Polly will offer a talk in the spirit of a Noble Path Talk to help share about her experience in finding the Dharma, and how she is cultivating and sharing her practice with others here in Johnson City. Originally from Unicoi County, she spent 13 years in NYC working as an architect & designer and training as a lay Zen student. Since returning to NETN in 2022, she has found new ways to continue on her path, maintain her relationship with her community, and build new ones. She will explore how her spiritual practice, work, and daily life interweave, continuously unfold, and reveal what is true.

We will open the gathering with a very simple meditation focused on calming the mind. After the talk we can have an open discussion and explore how one might engage in practice with the Blue Plum Zen Group. ✨
