About this Event
Ready to learn how to crab like a local while helping with marine science? Join the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and State Park staff for a hands-on Blue Crab Crabbing Clinic! Participants will learn recreational crabbing techniques, blue crab biology, new South Carolina blue crab regulations, and conservation best practices, all while helping collect data and tag blue crabs for ongoing research.
Come catch, collect, tag, and release with us and become part of the future of blue crab conservation in South Carolina!
No experience necessary. All ages are welcomed but tagging will require gross motor skills. All equipment will be provided.
All data will be collected with direct supervision of biologists.
There are two sessions so please only sign up for one.
What to bring: water bottle, snacks, bugspray, and sunscreen.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and make sure to check the weather report. You will be outside and you will probably get wet.
