For many of us, Christmas can be a bittersweet time of year, as we recall people and events once part of our lives but now changed or gone. We may feel blue due to grief, illness, depression, broken relationships, isolation, or loneliness. We may need an opportunity to step away from the busy exuberance of the season and simply be still, maybe even a little melancholy, for a bit. On the day of the year when the night is longest, we offer a meditative service that creates space for recalling our losses, sharing our hurting places with God, and preparing our hearts for the advent of hope-- the coming of the Christ child.
Please join us in person or online* on Sunday, December 21 at 5:30 PM for a time of meditative music and song, reflection, healing prayer, and candle lighting.
*Please see the Worship Services page of the church website: www.hopechurchdc.org.
All are welcome.
