For some of us, the holidays can also be a time of struggling with illness, sadness, or brokenness. We know some of us are facing a life-threatening illness, the death of a loved one, someone who is dying, a divorce, job loss, separation, or emotional stress. Some single people will feel especially alone when families are so emphasized. Other parts of the world are still dealing with war and violence.
For this reason, we will have a service to remember the challenging parts of the Christmas holidays. Our service is dedicated to those who are going through difficult times this Christmas season. At this service, we will offer together our deepest pain and sadness, our frustration and fear to our Lord.
We ask God to bring us healing and transformation. It is our prayer that we all find comfort and hope. We also pray for peace in the world.
Please invite friends, family, and neighbors in the area who you know are going through rough times. Even though you are not a person of Blue Christmas, come and support those who are struggling in this season, and sit with them as a way of caring for them.
