About this Event
Kick off the 2025 riding season with a scenic adventure ride from the Bay Area to Carrizo Plain National Monument. Then cross your fingers and pray for sunny days, stary nights, and a beautiful bloom. The moons aligned in 2023 to deliver the most spectacular super bloom we've seen. Last year's ride teased us with blue skys and flowers on our way down. Then, tested our fortitude with April showers and snow covered passes. 2024, nicknamed "The Doom Zoom," was memorable! One modification we made under the circumstances that stuck was a change to basecamp. We relocated to a site with a much-appreciated shelter. We'll have a refuge if we need it.
The event cost covers our camp costs, firewood, and platform costs. It does NOT include food or fuel. Route suggestions will be given to attendees and optional & complementary.
Weeked Summary
Meet Friday morning in Hollister.
Ride a long scenic route down towards Carizzo Plain. An alternate route may include CCMA.
Campout Friday night.
Ride Saturday.
Campout Saturday night.
Pack up, clean up camp, and head home on Sunday. Some bee-line home. Others may take an interesting route.
Additional details and routes will be shared with attendees prior to the event.
Routes will include chunky, twisty dirt & asphalt roads.
