Make sure to book early for this hands-on SFX makeup workshop led by Calum MacDonald of Gibbet FX. With over a decade's experience contributing to award-winning film and screen productions, Gibbet FX is a leading Scottish SFX provider. Their work includes Creature Design & Sculpture, Concept Art, Action Props, Gore & Prosthetic Make-Up FX, 3D Model Animation, Casualty & Accident Make-Up FX.
In this workshop, Calum will provide an introduction to the SFX industry in Scotland, followed by a demonstration of Out of Kit SFX makeup techniques. Participants will then have the chance to create their own SFX using materials provided.
Please note: The hands-on element of the workshop will involve the application of makeup to the skin. It is advised that those with sensitive skin and/or underlying skin conditions are aware of this and inform GFT when booking.
Please also be aware that the session will involve the creation of blood effects and wounds that some people may find distressing. Attendance is advised only if participants feel comfortable with such content.

This event is FREE, but ticketed, and will take place at Adelaide Place. Tickets are very limited for this session so please make sure to return yours if you are unable to attend.
Please note: due to limited capacity this event is restricted to 15-25 year olds. We may request age verification on the door and reserve the right to refuse admission.
You must be 15 or older to attend the BFI Film Academy Youth Industry Day at GFF. Please note film clips from films rated BBFC 15 or N/C 15+ may be used.
