The last time we talked gialli at the Horror Pod Class, we argued about whether or not I Know What You Did Last Summer was a giallo. This time, we're setting Tyler straight with a movie there's absolutely no debate about. If the giallo has an ur-text, it just might be Mario Bava's seminal classic Blood and Black Lace, about a series of brutal (and beautifully stylish) murders committed by a faceless, black-gloved killer in a Roman fashion house. Join us for a FREE screening of Blood and Black Lace as part of Stray Cat's Giallo-ary celebrations, and then stick around afterwards as Tyler and Orrin discuss the origins of the giallo, the career of Mario Bava, where one can get one of those amazing red mannequins, and why this might just be the most gorgeous movie ever made...
THE HORROR POD CLASS is a monthly free screening hosted by Orrin Grey and Tyler Unsell where they seek out horror films that could be useful in a school setting. Screenings start at 7pm with a live podcast recording taking place after.
