About Lady Gang:
Lady Gang (Jen Korte) is a visionary solo artist, producer, and performer whose work bridges ancestry, innovation, and evolution.
For nearly two decades, Korte fronted the award-winning Denver band Jen Korte & The Loss, building a reputation as one of Colorado’s most dynamic musicians. Her current solo project, Lady Gang, transforms that foundation into a bold, genre-bending exploration where loop pedal, electric guitar, beat machine, and powerhouse vocals collide with the rhythms of the Caribbean and Latin America.
Her journey has carried her across oceans and deserts. A move to the U.S. Virgin Islands marked a turning point in her artistry, opening her to new sonic influences and inspiring her to explore her Puerto Rican heritage. With a grandfather who was a seventh-generation Puerto Rican, Lady Gang believes her music is an inheritance passed down through blood and lineage. A return trip to Puerto Rico deepened this connection, grounding her sound in ancestral roots.
Lady Gang has also spent extended time in Mexico, collaborating with local musicians and immersing herself in desert landscapes and Latin percussion. These experiences expanded her palette, bringing earthy flutes, hand percussion, and reggaetón-inspired beats into her live performances.
In 2025, Lady Gang was featured as an official artist at the 30th Anniversary Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C., a milestone that reflects her growing national recognition. She has opened for an impressive roster of acts including Ky-Mani Marley (son of Bob Marley), Viva Nativa of Puerto Rico, Long Beach Dub All Stars, Shamarr Allen of Galactic, The Pharcyde, Nappy Roots, and Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes.
Her live shows are polished yet raw—multi-instrumental sonic journeys that move audiences from the dance floor to the heart. As one critic noted: “Lady Gang’s transition from Denver’s vibrant scene to the deserts of Mexico to the lush landscapes of the Caribbean has sparked an extraordinary evolution in her music.”
Beyond the stage, Lady Gang is a self-taught producer and filmmaker. In May 2024, she launched Ascension—the first immersive art exhibit in St. Thomas, USVI—merging music, film, and installation into a groundbreaking experience that celebrated both her desert and ocean ancestry. Her ability to self-produce albums and films underscores her versatility and commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
At the core of Lady Gang’s artistry is her belief that music is medicine. She often says: “The song is the offering, and the dance is the prayer.” Whether commanding festival stages, collaborating with yoga and breathwork facilitators, or leading ecstatic dance journeys, Lady Gang creates transformative spaces where body, heart, and spirit are moved together.
