About this Event
On the 9th of November The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) will be celebrating the 80th anniversary year of Colossus and Block H, and the remarkable legacy of the General Post Office engineers who brought it to life.
Block H Rebooted: Honoring Colossus & the GPO Legacy will be an immersive experience, transporting you back to the 1940s as we honor the history and innovation that took place within our walls.
This special event will take place at TNMOC, where we will also showcase the extensive restoration and refurbishment efforts within Block H, made possible by the generous support of the Post Office Remembrance Fellowship and our steadfast supporters and donors.
You are also invited to witness the grand unveiling of a new pop-up exhibition dedicated to the hidden figures who made the creation of Colossus possible. At the heart of this captivating exhibition lies original design and engineering plans, and transcripts of interviews with engineers such as Flowers, Coombs, and more.
The event will commence with a prosecco reception at 11am, and an elegant afternoon tea in our newly renovated meeting room will be included as part of your invitation.
This gathering provides an exclusive opportunity to explore the successfully renovated areas of Block H, including the roofs over Tunny and Colossus, and the upgraded café/shop, and meeting room.
We hope that you will join us in celebrating this incredible milestone and the ongoing preservation of our heritage. Please RSVP by the 1st of October to confirm your attendance. Additional guests are charged at £10 to allow the Museum to cover operational costs.
