Bloc Social with Lawrence Patience: Can I get away with...?

Can I get away with…? Are there ‘no go’ areas in children’s publishing? Let’s chat taboo… or not? Should children be 'protected' from difficult issues such as racism, war and death? Is it appropriate to write about addiction for younger audiences? If we write about self-harm and eating disorders are we only encouraging it? Shouldn't childhood be cherished? Shouldn't reading be fun? Discuss!
The Bloc Social is a space to discuss, as a group, issues and themes within the world of writing. Have your say and join us for this informal, discussion session.
