The Hybrid Gallery presents: "Bl!nk and You'll Miss It!" - An art and performance collaboration between Eugene's very own Wax Poetry Revue burlesque troupe, and House of Strange Rituals Art Collective.January 11th, 2025
About the event:
The Wax Poetry Revue burlesque and variety troupe has partnered with local femme art collective "House of Strange Rituals" to create living interpretations of a surreal natural world, with a focus on the interactive "Bl!nk!" art installation featured In downtown Eugene in 2021. The installation is a full size gathering of poppies in a technical/biological maturity growth stage; with opening, closing, and moving eyes coded to interact with surrounding motion. The stage and ambiance of the room will be decorated by the likes of local artists such as Honey + Sass Oddities and Curio artist Lindsay Swing, and ceramics artist Jenna Vannest of Forest Floor Studios.
About The Wax Poetry Revue:
Founded in 2019, The Wax Poetry Revue is a collective of visual and conceptual performance artists dedicated to thought provoking, and avant-garde burlesque and circus features.
About House of Strange Rituals:
Local women led art collective "House of Strange Rituals," specialize in interactive art, oddities, and technology that enlivens the senses. The collective's goal is to transform the gallery into a space that honors the beauty and mysteries of the natural world, where the life-sized Bl!nk interactive art installation is the focal point.
The Hybrid Gallery lounge will be providing themed craft cocktail specials to add to this unique experience.
