The premise is simple—check your book shelf, find a book that you want or need to read, and then wreck your shelf by systematically reading all the books there.

Book lovers and curious readers are invited to take a chance on a literary adventure at the Blind Date with a Book event, happening on March 23, 2025, at Mixt Foodhall.

Join us for this monthly in person reading sprint. Guests will receive a mystery-wrapped book, hand-selected to introduce them to new stories and perspectives. The event will also feature a silent book club experience, where attendees can enjoy their new reads or the book they brought with them. Whether you're an avid reader or someone looking to reignite your love for books, this event is designed to connect individuals through the power of storytelling.

“Literacy brings with it a power that can never be taken away,” said Stalina Goodwin organizer of the event and founder of My Ambitions As A Writer, a local writer’s organization committed to fostering a love for reading and writing through impactful programs. “This experience is about encouraging people to step outside their reading comfort zones, or to get deeper into them with us, but still explore new genres, and embrace the joy of literacy in a fun way.”
