The Blind Center of Nevada is turning 70 and we’re opening our campus for a free, family-friendly day with guided tours, hands-on demos, live music, and free food. You’ll meet our members, see how adaptive technology transforms lives, and learn how your support powers meaningful jobs and independence. Check out the WAYMO SELF-DRIVING CAR on site!
Bring your electronics to recycle!
As part of the celebration, we’re hosting an Electronics Recycling Drive! Safely and responsibly recycle old computers, laptops, phones, tablets, gaming systems, small electronics, cables, and more. (See “What to bring” below for details.)

What to expect
- Campus tours showcasing our training labs, culinary program, and social enterprises
- Adaptive technology demos and stories from members who are blind or visually impaired
- Free food & music from 11:30AM to 1:00PM (first come, first served)

Who should attend
Neighbors, families, donors, community partners, employers, educators—everyone who believes in inclusion and opportunity.
Electronics Recycling – What to bring
Accepted: laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, keyboards/mice, cables, printers, small appliances, network gear, modems/routers, hard drives (we provide secure destruction), game consoles, flat-panel monitors/TVs.
Please avoid: large CRT monitors/TVs, household hazardous waste, paint/chemicals, biohazards, appliances and batteries.
Data security: We follow strict data-handling and destruction practices. Certificates of destruction available upon request at check-in.
Questions about a specific item? Bring it—we’ll advise at the drive-through lane.
Schedule (drop in anytime)
- 10:00 AM – Doors open, recycling drive begins
- 10:30 AM / 11:30 AM / 12:30 PM – Guided campus tours
- 12:00 PM – Brief remarks & recognition
- 1:45 PM – Raffle drawing (85" TV)
- 2:00 PM – Event concludes
Raffle details (85" TV)
- How to enter: Complete a free RSVP registration on Eventbrite by 1:00 PM PT on November 22, 2025.
- Eligibility: 18+; U.S. residents; one entry per person. Employees/board of the Blind Center of Nevada and their household members are not eligible.
- No purchase necessary. Making a donation or bringing items to recycle will not increase your chances of winning.
- Selection & notification: One winner selected at random at approximately 1:30 PM PT on-site. We’ll announce live and contact the winner via the email/phone provided at registration. Attendance is not required to win.
- Claiming prize: Winner must claim within 7 days; prize must be picked up from the Blind Center OR Blind Center will deliver but setup not included.
- Void where prohibited. Subject to all applicable laws and Eventbrite terms.

- ADA-accessible venue with accessible restrooms and seating
- Wayfinding assistance and sighted guides available at check-in
- On-site parking and a drive-through recycling lane on Bruce St.
- ASL interpretation available upon request (please note during registration)

Is this free? Yes—admission, tours, and lunch are free.
Do I need a ticket for each person? Please register each adult; kids are welcome.
Will you accept large TVs or appliances? We can accept limited flat-panel TVs; we cannot accept CRTs or large appliances.
Can I get a donation receipt? Yes—ask at check-in.
