About this Event
We are thrilled to invite you to a day filled with blessings, love, and community spirit! On Sunday, October 6th, we’ll be hosting a special outdoor service led by Rev. Nancy Bacon and Tony Lee, the Unitarian Universalist Spiritual Leader, dedicated to blessing the animals that bring so much joy into our lives.
But don’t worry, you don’t need to own a pet to be part of this special day! Whether you bring your pet, a photo, or simply your love for animals, everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating the connection between humans and animals. If you do bring a pet, just make sure they’re friendly, on a leash, or in a crate for safety.
This day is about more than blessings – it’s about action and making a difference! We’ll have local non-profits on-site sharing their important work to control the pet population in Bakersfield. You’ll also have the chance to learn how you can get involved, support their missions, and even pick up some great items they’ll have for sale. Donations are welcomed and will help fund their incredible efforts.
We’re also collecting cat and dog food for the Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry, which helps those in need care for their pets. The event runs from 9 AM to 12 noon, with the blessing service starting at 10 AM. Stick around to enjoy live music and tasty treats from food trucks and browse vendors with pet products.
Mark your calendars, invite your friends, and join us for this heartwarming day of community, love, and blessings!
