BLESSING of the ANIMALS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12 during worship we will celebrate the furry, feathery, scaly, creeping, crawling animals which bless our lives. In honor of the Feast of St. Francis, bring your friendly, and affectionate pets with you to worship. Please bring the appropriate carrier, leash (6' static leash or shorter), or well-fitted harness for the safety of your pet and the people in church. If you do not have a pet due to allergies, family situation, or beloved animal has died, consider bringing in a photograph - or even a stuffed animal, or toy - to honor the importance of their presence in our lives. We know each of us... and each pet... deals with the stress of large groups differently. A guideline for identifying a pet who may be appropriate to bring to the Pet Blessing are animals who regularly (multiple times a month, that is) travel outside of the home to socialize with their own and other species.
DOES YOUR PET PREFER TO REMAIN OUTSIDE?
There will be an opportunity to have pets who prefer to remain outside, or distanced from large groups, blessed from 10:45 am - 11:30 am outside the front of church building near the Memorial UCC sign along Lacy Road following the service on 10/12.
