Christ Episcopal Church, 428 Pee Dee Avenue will have the annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 4 at 10 am in the front churchyard. In case of rain, the blessing will be done in the church. The Blessing of the Animals is a tradition rooted in the life of St. Francis of Assisi who was known for his profound love for all creatures. This ceremony in held on or around the Feast of St. Francis which is October 4 and recognizes that all of God’s creatures are cherished and beloved, reflecting the deep connection humans share with all living things.
