Join us on Sunday, October 6th at 12noon at Granville Dog Park (corner of West 14th Avenue and Pine Street) as we bless and celebrate the animals that bless our lives. You are invited to bring your pets (properly leashed or caged) where our clergy team will bless them and thank them for their companionship, and given a treat!
The Blessing of the Animals is a cherished tradition rooted in the life and legacy of St. Francis of Assisi, a 12th-13th century preacher, poet, healer, and the founder of the Franciscan Order.
At Canadian Memorial United Church and Centre for Peace, we are a progressive, inclusive, and affirming spiritual community and extend our openness to people and practices of many faith backgrounds and beliefs.
The Blessing of the Animals is a family-friendly, free, and fun event that celebrates our beloved pets as integral members of our families. Whether you have a furry friend or another kind of companion animal, this is the perfect time to gather, celebrate, and receive a blessing for your cherished pet.
