The annual Blessing of the Animals held by St. Matthews will take place on Saturday, October 4th at 10 am., the Feast of St. Francis, and pet lovers of all kinds are encouraged to participate. Please bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier. The annual event has been going on for more than 25 years and has attracted a wide range of furry and not-so-furry friends such as dogs, cats, horses, lizards and more.
The Blessing of the Animals is part of the celebration of St. Francis Day. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and is also known for preaching to animals during his lifetime, which is why we do this in October, this year on the feast of St. Francis!
Rev. Jay Bruno and Rev. Nancy Cook will be there to pray for your animals!
The event will be held in our parking lot.
