Blended Heritage: Irish Whiskey from the 1960s to Now
Join Louth Whiskey Society on July 18 for an extraordinary tasting where we will explore Irish Whiskey history through bottles from the 1960s to the present day. Our journey begins with Tullamore Dew 1960s Blended, released during a challenging and transformative period for Irish whiskey. Next, we highlight the 1980s when Dr John Teeling established Cooley Distillery, exemplified by the fine single malt, Dun Leire. Moving on, we have Jameson Marconi from Midleton Distillery in Cork, showcasing plenty of Old Pot Still and Grain character. The Redbreast 12 Cask Strength 2012 Edition, with its rich sherry and Christmas cake notes, marks the advent of the cask strength crusade. We then enter a new era with Killowen Distillery, which embodies tradition, transparency, and integrity in its James J Fox Release. Finally, we come full circle with Two Stacks Pillars of Creation 2024 Vintage, a modern cask strength blend full of substance and bold flavors.
