The Porcupine Theater presentsBlades of Brass
Blades of Brass is a brass quintet based on the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska. Established in 2024, it was formed by a group of musicians that play together in the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra that are excited to share the excitement and beauty of brass instruments! We are especially passionate about exploring the flexibility of brass quintet and strive to program music that gives the ensemble and its members the opportunity to demonstrate that flexibility.
For this concert we will be performing music from the Baroque to the Beatles and Beyond! You will hear transcriptions and arrangements of works by Bach and Handel, arrangements of early jazz classics, and works written specifically for brass quintet by modern composers.
The musicians that make up Blades of Brass are Emily Thiem and Frances Jurek, trumpet; Emily Lamb, French Horn; Mary Simondsen, trombone, and Eric Simondsen, tuba. We look forward to seeing you at our concerts!
This concert costs $15 to attend and is roughly two hours long. Tickets are available now: https://porcupinetheater.com/special_events/blades-of-brass/
