Presented as part of the 2025 Blackwood River Arts Trail, the Blackwood River Film Festival proudly showcases the art of Australian cinema.We are delighted to partner with Revelation Perth International Film Festival at Balingup Town Hall to present two feature-length films and nine short films by Australian filmmakers.
In addition, we are pleased to be able to rescreen our 2022, 2023 and 2024 short film compilations for those who missed out previously.

5pm | FEATURE: Bassendream
Tales of youth, friendship and family interweave in an eccentric portrait of suburban existence on the last day of the summer school holidays in 1990's Australia.
7pm | SHORTS: 2025 Short Films
An exciting compilation of nine short films. From a ruined birthday party, to overcoming a fear of being touched, these films span the gamut of the human experience.

7pm | FEATURE: You Should Have Been Here Yesterday
You Should Have Been Here Yesterday combines hundreds of hours of lovingly restored 16mm footage with a salt-infused soundscape by Headland. This cinematic poem tells the story of a wild community who took off up the coast and discovered a whole new way to live.
