Join Abigail's Trails on a hike up onto Blackstone Edge on Good Friday morning to enjoy a peaceful sunrise overlooking Hollingworth Lake.We will set off a coupe of hours before dawn and walk the 3.5 miles to the edge on good paths and tracks. After watching the sun come up perched on top of the gritstone boulders, and having our hot drinks / snacks we'll make our way down on grassy unmarked moorland paths. The Pennine Bridleway will then be used for our return to Hollingworth Lake, by which time the cafes will probably be opening.
This 6.25 mile (10km) circular route has an elevation of 1,200ft (365m) and will be of moderate steepness. We will aim to complete this route within 4.5 hours, including the break at the top to enjoy the sunset (weather permitting).
Well behaved, friendly (with other dogs and people), agile dogs are welcome (max. 2 per person), but please note we are likely to encounter livestock enroute, so will have to be on leads for parts of this route.
As with all Abigail's Trails, this is a small-group guided walk led by a professional Mountain Leader. Spaces are limited and cost £12 per person.
Please ensure you have read and agreed to our Terms and Conditions and GDPR Privacy Notice prior to booking. Details of what to bring and where to meet will be emailed or sent in the WhatsApp chat on booking, but please get in touch if you need further details beforehand. We walk in ALL weather, so please take note of the Kit List that will be sent out on booking.
