Join MUD instructor Mark Vander Meer to learn and practice the foundational concepts of working an old-time charcoal-fired forge with hammer and tongs! Mark will show you the basics of lighting the forge, heating your irons, and shaping molten metal. Come learn the beautiful art of Blacksmithing with us!All equipment and materials will be provided. Please make sure to wear appropriate clothing - wool, cotton, or leather is preferred so they don't melt and closed-toed shoes are required.
There will be 2 Sessions on October 18th:
Session 1: 9am - 12pm
Session 2: 1 - 4pm
This workshop will be held at the beautiful Moon Randolph Homestead, 1515 Spurlock Road.
