About this Event
This 2 day course is perfect for anyone who has always wanted to try blacksmithing!
You will learn how to use fire as a tool for heating metal, and how to tell when it is hot / soft enough to be shaped. You will then learn techniques for shaping it with a hammer, as well as how to use other specialized blacksmith’s tools. We will lead you step-by-step through the process of creating 2 finished projects that you will take home with you: a toasting fork and a spoon.
No previous metalworking or drawing experience is necessary. All that’s required is a sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn!
Class runs from 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday with a 1h lunch. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. See you there!
