July 1st, Chicago is celebrating Black Pride weekend like never before. We’re reclaiming our time and our joy as we gift one another the empowerment to indulge in a truly liberatory space.
Raves were spaces created out of desire and necessity- built as a haven for the ones society considers misfits & outsiders, to be free, dance, and express themselves without judgment. Let’s get ratchet- unapologetically bold in our expression of Blackness. Leave the respectability politics at the door and meet us on the dance floor- smallWORLD Collective DJs TORi & DJ Dapper are ready to make you sweat to the beat of your favorite Hip Hop, House, R&B hits and more as Jewel the Gem & Mx Eden bring in some East Coast flavor & set the vibes as your hosts. Bring your dollars because the gogo dancers are ready to heat things up to prep you for a raunchy night full of mischief including a lap dance contest & special performance.
Our spaces center Black queer women, trans, and gender nonconforming folks. Respect them, their pronouns, the space, and CONSENT at all times.
