The event marks the exciting, informal launch of SFU's Black Student Centre, a vital space dedicated to uplifting and empowering Black students on their social, academic, and cultural journeys. Attendees will be inspired by student speakers and vibrant cultural performances celebrating the richness of Black heritage, while also discovering the resources and community available at the center. This gathering is not just a celebration of the BSC; it's an invitation to connect, grow, and thrive together as a unified community, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all.

Info: Lauretta is an interdisciplinary creative, that uses dance as one of her medium of creative.

She started off as a self- taught dancer, but has taken classes and workshops over the years in Afro dance styles, Hip-hop and Salsa. She has a background in Contemporary Arts, where she has learnt the theoretical and technical aspects of different dance forms.

She has been teaching for 2 years, and uses this as an opportunity to build community and share knowledge.
