Join I AM BLACK SCI-FI for the inaugural Black Sci-Fi Convention at the Sheraton University City in Philadelphia on August 1-2, 2020, as we celebrate the fandom and creative contributions of Black people to sci-fi, other speculative fiction, and S.T.E.M.
Black Sci-Fi convention is not your typical "comic convention", but instead is a specially curated, two-day action packed event featuring your favorite indie creators, celebrity meet & greets, educational workshops, film screenings, engaging panels, Sunday youth programming, and a marketplace filled with your favorite vendors, artists, authors, and exhibitors!
The 2020 theme for the convention is "The Future is Now" and we truly believe that it is our duty as an organization to host an event that will inspire the imaginations of youth and adults around around the globe NOW, as we cultivate brighter futures.
We are committed to hosting a one of a kind, immersive cultural experience that highlights the amazing and unique creative perspectives Black creators bring to Sci-fi and other speculative fiction, in addition to exploring the intersection between sci-fi and S.T.E.M. by highlighting the innovation and achievements of Black people to science, tech, engineering, and math.
We are excited to bring this event to Philly and we look forward to bringing you an experience that will entertain, educate, and inspire for years to come. The future is now, so get ready to take flight!
