About this Event
This evening event provides a space for First Nations voices to speak their poetic and political truths, platforming poetry around Aboriginal mental health and healing. Curated and hosted by Evelyn Araluen, Black Rhymes’ central collective of performers will appear with guest poets on the night.
Black Rhymes Aboriginal Poetry Night began in 2016 in Redfern, Sydney and featured local and visiting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Indigenous talent. Black Rhymes aims to create a community space for poetry and empowerment.
This event is part of 2022 The Big Anxiety Festival and is co-presented by RMIT Culture, UNSW and State Library Victoria.
About The Big Anxiety
