Are you a Black parent or caregiver in Grand Rapids seeking connection and support from other parents who share similar joys and challenges as you raise young people? Join us on Saturday, December 20th, for a Parent Cafe specifically designed by and for Black parents and caregivers. This month's topic: This Café will focus on how we, as Black Parents and Caregivers, show up and advocate for our children in school and community. We will learn about the Invest in Mi Kids campaign and what it would look like for our Black children and students to receive equitable funding.
RSVP by on Dec 18 at https://forms.gle/nwvKGH3CxA3k1xrn7
Snacks will be available, and you are welcome to bring your kids with some of their favorite activities to help keep them busy in one of our side rooms! If you have questions, please get in touch with Fredericka, the UCC Education Justice Parent and Family Organizer, at [email protected].
*Please note that this event is specifically for folks who identify as Black. If you are interested in attending a Parent Cafe in the future, please reach out to Fredericka for future dates!*
What is a Parent Cafe?
