About this Event
Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than White women, according to the CDC. But more than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths in the U.S. are preventable.
Black mothers and Black women considering becoming pregnant along with their families are invited to join Circles of Washtenaw County to …
- learn more about the causes of Black maternal mortality,
- gain tools to advocate for yourself in the medical system, and
- receive resources to take care of yourself before, during and after your pregnancy.
You’ll also have a chance to share your stories and contribute to collective action to help ensure every Black mother and child has an equitable chance to thrive.
This event is free with food, childcare, and giveaways. Families are welcome!
