On the surface, one might believe that there are major differences between Black Liberation Theology and Catholic Social Teaching. A deeper dive into each ideology discovers that the philosophies are fundamentally more alike than different. Creating spaces for ongoing conversations, between courageous clerics and laity, have enormous potential for arriving at a shared truth and racial rapprochement. JES Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Parris Baker will provide information to assist attendees engage in transformative conversations – first, introspective appraisals; second, between and among intimate family and friends; and finally, with the larger religious communities.
