Afro Moone is hosting our first sonic study for Black is a vibration series. We will have a short discourse with legendary percussionist and producer Djallo Djakate and also culinary chef & photographer Brian Edwards! Black Is a Vibration honors and celebrates the vibrational fabrics of black culture and it's impact. All are welcome yes the youngins too !
This study explores the innovation of electronics and signal flow and where it comes from and how it shows up in music composistion.
Guest are encouraged to share a song that has electronic music instruments as well as share the why!

Who are the architects?
Djallo Djakate is born and raised in Detroit drummer/percussionist/leader, beat maker, vinyl archivist and is a sought after sideman for many diverse occasions. He can be seen performing traditional jazz, ragtime, bebop, avant grade, blues, r&b, second line, reggae, afro-beat, techno, and many other styles. A well-respected private teacher, Djallo has always challenged himself and his students to learn more styles of music. He leads the band “Inner Ear” and has worked with a multitude of great Detroit artist including Kenn Cox, Harold McKinney, Charlie Gabriel, Marcus Belgrave, Wendell Harrison, Dennis Coffey, Martha Reeves, and has toured the US, Europe, Africa, and Japan.
Roti Baby, led by Chef Brian Edwards, is an immersive West Indian Street food pop up that explores lineage, alchemy, and personal transformation through interactive dining experiences.
