Celebrate Black History Month with us at MLK Jr. Recreation Center! Black History Month is an annual celebration that includes an art competition, a program with a guest speaker, music, food, and fellowship around the theme, African Americans and Labor. The event provides an opportunity to reflect on the significant role African Americans have played in shaping the nation's workforce, while also celebrating their cultural achievements and contributions.
Local artists, grades K-12, are invited to participate in the art competition focusing on the theme, African Americans and Labor and entries will be accepted through January 17, displayed at MLK Rec. Center beginning January 20 and judged January 29. Winners will be notified and honored during the celebration
