In celebration of Black History Month, the African American Business Leaders Council is proud to present their Black History Month Celebration on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at PBS39 (839 Sesame St, Bethlehem, PA 18015) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Black History Month’s power lies in its meaning to Black people and its impact on shaping a more informed and equitable society. 2026 marks 100 years of national Black history commemorations. This tradition began with Dr. Carter G. Woodson and fellow founders of the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH) in 1915. In 1925, Woodson launched Negro History Week and later expanded into Black History Month, which grew into a major cultural institution in the U.S. and around the world.
For a century, these celebrations have highlighted the achievements, struggles, and cultural contributions of people of African descent. Since gaining federal recognition in 1976 it has become deeply woven into American culture and community life.
Join us for an evening of live entertainment, a Black-owned business and resource expo, presentations, spoken word, hors d’oeuvres and networking as we come together to celebrate Black history, culture, emotional & physical well-being and community. We will also be the first to view the trailer for PBS’ “Echoes of Freedom” documentary.
