Please join us to celebrate Black History Month! This event focuses on honouring the past and inspiring the future by highlightning the resilience, innovation, and contributions of Black Canadians.
The program includes
- Welcome Remarks & Land Acknowledgement
- African Ancestral Acknowledgement
- Joy Akinkunmi, a remarkable high school student and innovator, will share her journey of creating The Pill Smart, a pill dispensing solution for seniors with dementia, followed by Q&A.
- "And then what happened.." Keynote presentation by Tracy Lee, a fifth-generation Black Canadian, who will share stories of strength and perseverance from her ancestors' journeys through the Underground Railroad and early Black settlements in Canada.
This event will inspire, educate, and celebrate the rich history and bright future of the Black community.
