Black History Month 2026 launches on January 31 with our Opening Celebration Gala - the signature event of the season - and continues through February with a full calendar of programs designed to honour Black heritage, elevate Black voices, and strengthen connections across PEI.
What’s happening this month:
• Opening Celebration Gala | January 31
An elegant evening of culture, artistry, and community at the Delta Prince Edward, featuring live performances, distinguished speakers, and a curated three-course dining experience.
• Pan-African Flag Raisings | February 2–6
Ceremonial flag raisings across PEI, uniting communities in visibility, pride, and collective commitment to equity.
• Community Luncheon Series | February 7, 14, 21 & 28
Conversations that nourish the soul, featuring themed gatherings:
Black Women Empowered, Black Men United, Black, Queer & Here, and Black Youth Engaged!
• Partner Events, Library Programs & Digital Programming
