Black History Community Celebration

Dear Cootes Paradise Community,

We are proud to introduce "Black Fire," our newly formed Grade 4/5 Black Student Voice Leadership Team at Cootes Paradise Elementary School! This inspiring group of young leaders has come together to amplify Black student voices, foster a sense of belonging, and celebrate Black culture within our school community.

One of the first initiatives led by Black Fire is organizing a special community event for Black History Month right here at Cootes Paradise. We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating Black culture, history, and achievements while building community.

This month is Black History Month. On Tuesday, February 25 from 4:00-5:00 pm, we invite you to come join us in the gym to celebrate Black culture. There will be food, music, art work, and some student speakers. There is no cost to attend this event but please scan the QR code below to reserve your tickets.
