About this Event
A 75 minute varitey show celebrating Black American film through parody, poetry and strip-tease. Featuring vocal performances, celebrity impersonation, and themed burlesque.
Showcasing movies that have made moves for Black History including but not limited to Coffy (Pam Grier), Carmen Jones(Harry Belafonte and Dorothy Dandridge) or Carmen: A Hip Hopera (Beyonce), The Color Purple (1985), The Wiz and Wicked, For Colored Girls (by Ntozake Shange), Dreamgirls, Sparkle and Purple Rain (Prince). But to be presented in a chronological timeline reflecting past to present.
Expect digital production paired with lived performances. An open bar off entry and a private bar for the party. Exclusive Backstage access, Reserved, VIP and Named seating.
Tips are highly encouraged, considered culture and social norm. Please throw, toss, hurl, fling, pitch, cast, lob, project, bowl, sling, chuck, heave, catapult, propel, aim, deliver money to the stage. Digital tipping is available on
- It is common and appropriate culture to throw money and make noise at burlesque shows. There will be ones provided.
- Photos of the cast are allowed and requested but photos with the cast are paid for. Please refer to add-ons for prices and purchase.
