One year of poetry, community, and creative expression, celebrated together.
The Black Hills Writers Collective celebrates one year of building literary community in the Black Hills with a special evening at The Matthews. Five featured poets — Whitnee Coy, Chloe Lehman, Nicholas Trandahl, Starr Paul, and Robert Harold Bordeaux — will read original work accompanied by live music from Josh Lehman and guest musicians.
After an intermission featuring the collective's first-ever merchandise launch, the night opens up for community members to share their own poetry. This fundraising event supports the collective's mission to pay poets and artists, expand workshop offerings, and invest in sound equipment and community events.
Part of The Matthews' Ink and Imagination exhibit series, celebrating literary and visual arts together.
