Hike Rating: Grade 3 Distance: 7.50km
Join Betty for a beautiful twilight hike and sunset at the Black Hill conservation park
We will cover a number of the tracks in the park, heading up the Ambers Gully and Yurrebilla Trails passing through rocky gullies and mixed open forests dominated by stringybark, pink gum, blue gum, red gum and manna gum that provide habitat for an abundance of bird life, western grey kangaroos and koalas. Be on the look out for the blue wrens, southern boobook owls, black-faced cuckoo-shrikes and the occasional falcon that will hunt along the ridgelines of the park.
Once at the top we will take a break to enjoy sunset and a snack before heading back down via the Main Ridge track for a hot drink and sweet treat to finish our evening
There is easy parking and a toilet nearby the starting point if you need to change prior to walking.
This is a moderate hike with some steep sections so reasonable fitness is required but we will travel at a pace that will suit everyone attending on the night.
Financial Club Members $10 | Casual $15
