The Black Hawk Gem & Mineral Society meets at the Waterloo Center for the Arts in Waterloo, Ia, the second Tuesday of every month, September through June (no monthly meeting in July or August), at 7pm, in one of the Art Center's meeting rooms. There will be signs at the entrance showing which room the meeting will be in. Generally, you walk in main doors, continue straight until you can't anymore, then go left, left again, then right, and meeting rooms are along this part of the hall. Meetings consist of club business, personal specimen show and tell, educational discussions, demonstrations, videos, door prizes, guest speakers, and identification- you are encouraged to bring something to be identified by many of the experts in attendance!
In addition to monthly club meetings, club members go on "field trips" throughout the year to different sites (collect items in the "field"), put on rock shows, and host other events!
Visitors are welcome and it's free for them to attend these meetings! We look forward to seeing you!
