Black Girls Hike: Ruislip and Mad Bess Woods (Moderate)

Join us for a moderate-fast paced walk as we explore one of London’s most enchanting woodland networks — Mad Bess Woods and Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve.
Duration: 7 hours (including breaks). This is a moderate-to-fast-paced walk, please ensure you’re comfortable walking steadily for several hours.
Terrain: Moderate – woodland paths with gentle inclines. It can be muddy after rain, and there are a few kissing gates.
Accessibility information: Due to the nature of terrain, unfortunately this walk is may not be accessible for wheelchair users or those requiring fully accessible paths.
Toilets: Toilets are available at the start, halfway and end.
Transport: There are good transport links to the start point (this walk is circular).
Car Parking: There is paid parking at the start point (local side-street bays and small car parks).
What to Wear & Bring:
• Supportive walking boots or waterproof shoes
• Warm, weather-appropriate layers and waterproof jacket
• 1.5–2 litres of water
• Packed lunch and snacks
• Picnic blanket or mat for breaks
• Walking poles
• Spare socks

Can I come to Black Girls Hike?
As the name suggests, this is a safe space for Black/Mixed Race cis and trans women and non-binary people of Black African and/or Caribbean descent who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of Black women. We are not a BAME, POC, BIPOC,WOC, Politically Black or Ally organisation.
