Black Eye Film Club presents ROCKERS (1978)
Celebrate Black Music Month with Black Eye Film Club as we screen the cult classic Rockers (1978), a vibrant portrait of Jamaica's reggae culture at its creative peak.
Starring legendary reggae musicians including Horsemouth Wallace, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, and Jacob Miller, Rockers follows a struggling drummer navigating Kingston's music scene after his motorcycle is stolen. Part street tale, part musical, and part cultural document, the film captures the energy, style, politics, and community spirit that helped reggae become a global force.
