Jean Augustine Secondary School’s Inaugural Black Excellence Gala
Thursday, February 26, 2026 | 6:00–8:00 PM
Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating Black excellence, leadership, and legacy at Jean Augustine Secondary School’s Inaugural Black Excellence Gala. This special event will honour outstanding achievements within our school and community through a formal awards ceremony, spoken word performances, and moments of reflection that uplift Black voices and stories.
The evening also marks a historic milestone: the 30th anniversary of Black History Month in Canada, introduced in Parliament in 1995 by the Honourable Dr. Jean Augustine. This anniversary will be celebrated in her presence, recognizing her enduring contributions to education, advocacy, and Black Canadian history.
Guests will enjoy a light dinner, a keynote address, and a tribute recognizing Dr. Jean Augustine’s legacy. Award recipients will have access to a photobooth to capture the moment, and all attendees can expect an elegant evening filled with connection, inspiration, and amazing memories.
Formal attire required!
This gala brings together students, educators, community leaders, and distinguished guests to reflect on the power of Black leadership, achievement, and collective excellence.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
